Include your judgement as to whether or not the criterion for student achievement has been met.In the boxes below, please reflect on this outcomes results and summarize how you plan to use the results to improve student learning.Outcome #1: Organize into a specific rhetorical pattern relevant to the purposeAssessment Measure: Rhetorical appeals Criterion for achievement: The ability to compose an analysis of genre as a rhetorical appeal. Results: Students struggled with the concept of genre more than rhetorical appeal. The criterion for the rhetorical appeals was absolutely met as students learned to distinguish the rhetorical tools being employed to create context/support for arguments and audience-based rhetoric. Criterion Met: Yes1. Results Analysis: The results were interesting in the fact that students were able to easily grasp the concept of rhetorical appeal but struggled with genre as a vehicle of rhetorical appeals. 2. Action Plan: I intend to strengthen contact with genre earlier in the conversation and that should strengthen the depth of understanding associated with rhetorical appeals in academia. Outcome #2: Apply the fundamentals of revisionAssessment Measure: Interactive revision (digital only) Criterion for achievement: The ability to use virtual and LMS tools to navigate a peer-review process while maintaining an active understanding of revision versus editing. Results: Students were able to interact through discussion boards but it still felt like there is a need to reinforce the idea that revisions particularly when explored in groups allow for entirely new ideas and composed positioned to be discovered or explored. Criterion Met: Yes1. Results Analysis: Student effectively navigated peer revision suggestions through reviews. 2. Action Plan: I would like to be able to get a deeper dive into the revision process, embracing the idea of being willing to start over after revision conversation.
